Activity log
“Activity log” in “Settings”, under “Account”, is the record of what has happened on your account.
Who can see it
Owners and administrators. Viewers cannot, and the platform refuses the request for them rather than relying on the section being hidden.
What to use it for
Three things, mostly.
Answering “who changed this”. A setting that is not what you left it as has a record of being changed.
Checking automation. A rule that acts on your behalf leaves its actions here, which is the honest way to find out whether it is doing what you meant rather than what you wrote. See Automation rules.
Looking into something that worries you. Alongside “Active sessions”, this is where you would look after a suspected compromise. See Security.
What it is not
It is not the tracking history of a shipment, which is on Track a shipment.
It is not your billing history, which is on Invoices.
It is not a debugging tool for integrations. If a connected system is behaving oddly, start with that integration’s own page.
A note on reading it
Read the log before forming a theory, not after. An entry that contradicts what you assumed is the most useful thing on this page, and it is easy to skim past once you have decided what happened.
