# Upgrade your plan

Moving to a higher plan, when it takes effect, and what you are charged

Section: app. Audience: public. Updated: 2026-09-21.

---
Upgrading is done from the **"Billing"** page, on the **"Subscription"** card.

## Making the change

Press **"Change plan"**. The catalogue opens, showing your current plan and interval, and you pick the one you want to move to. Press **"Continue"**, read the confirmation, and confirm.

The confirmation for an upgrade is headed with the plan you are moving to and the word now, because that is what happens.

## When it takes effect

Immediately. Your new allowances and limits apply straight away, not at the end of the period.

## What you are charged

The unused part of your current plan is credited and the new plan is charged for the rest of the period. The app states this before you confirm. The final action is **"Upgrade now"**.

If your account carries a setup fee difference between the two plans, that is shown to you before you confirm as well. The figure is worked out by the platform and simply displayed.

## Currency

The catalogue in the change dialog is priced in your subscription's currency, which may not be your display currency. When the two differ the dialog tells you which one it is using. See [Which currency you are billed in](/app/billing-currency).

## Things that stop an upgrade

- A subscription already set to cancel cannot have its plan changed. Resume it first, or contact us.
- An unpaid setup fee already billed to the account blocks a move to a higher plan until it is settled.
- An account billed through WooCommerce changes its plan there, not here.

In each case the app says which of these applies rather than failing vaguely.
