# Sign out and sessions

Ending your session, seeing where else you are signed in, and revoking devices

## Signing out

**"Sign out"** is in the account menu, the round button with your initials at the right end of the top bar. The menu shows the address you are signed in with above it. It ends the session in this browser and returns you to the sign-in screen. If a page holds unsaved changes, the app asks first.

Inside the Shopify embedded app there is no separate session to end, so the menu does not offer it there. Closing the app in Shopify admin is enough.

## Sessions on other devices

Go to **"Settings"**, then **"Security"**, and find **"Active sessions"**. It lists the sessions currently open on your account.

You can revoke any one of them, or use **"Revoke all other sessions"** to clear every device except the one you are using.

Revoking the session you are on is also possible. The app asks you to confirm first, because it will sign you out.

## What revoking actually does

A revoked device is signed out the next time it refreshes, not necessarily the same second you press the button. The app says so on the card rather than implying an instant cut-off, so that a revoked laptop in someone else's hands is not assumed to be dead before it is.

If a device is genuinely lost, revoke its session and change your password, and if you have two-factor authentication on, regenerate your recovery codes.

## How long a session lasts

Sessions expire on their own after a period, and the app renews them quietly in the background while you are working. The exact lifetimes are a platform setting rather than something you configure, so they are not repeated here.

If a session expires while the app is open, you are returned to the sign-in screen rather than left looking at a page that silently stops working.
