# Invoices

Where your invoices appear, the two formats you can download, and what to do when there are none

Invoices live on the **"Billing"** page. There is no separate invoices page in the sidebar: an older link to one still works and simply opens **"Billing"**.

## The company details on them

Above the list, the account owner of an account billed directly sees **"Company details"**: the registered name, address, VAT number, EORI number and billing email printed on every invoice. The card names any required field still missing, because an invoice cannot be issued without it. Until September 2026 this card was in **"Settings"**; the Billing item there now opens this page. An account billed through Shopify does not see it: Shopify issues its invoices.

## The list

Each row shows the period the invoice covers, its total, and its status: **"Issued"**, **"Paid"** or **"Cancelled"**.

## Downloading

Every invoice offers two downloads.

**"PDF"** gives you a Factur-X file. It looks and prints like an ordinary PDF, and the machine-readable invoice is attached inside it, so one file satisfies both a human reader and an accounts system.

**"XML"** gives you the machine-readable invoice on its own, in the European standard format.

If the PDF is not ready yet, the app says so and points you at the XML, which is the valid electronic invoice either way. It does not offer you a download that would fail.

## If the list is empty

**"No invoices yet"** means what it says. Invoices appear at the end of each billing period, so a newly created account will not have one.

There is a separate state for an account whose invoicing has not been switched on yet. In that case your subscription is still charged at each renewal as normal, and the app tells you invoices will appear here once issuing begins. Nothing is missing and nothing is owed.

## Accounts invoiced by Shopify

If your plan is billed through Shopify, Shopify issues the invoices, and the app says so and points you to your Shopify admin rather than showing you an empty list.

## Credit notes

A credit note is issued as its own document, in its own numbering series, rather than by altering the invoice it corrects. Invoices are never edited after they are issued.

## Amounts

Figures on invoices come from the platform. This guide quotes none of them. Prices shown in the plan catalogue exclude VAT; your invoice is the document that states what was actually charged.
