# Finish setting up an account created for you

The invitation landing for accounts opened by the Horizon team, and the terms step that follows

Section: app. Audience: public. Updated: 2026-09-27.

Some accounts are opened by the Horizon team rather than by the person who will use them. If yours was, you get an invitation link instead of signing up.

## The landing page

The link opens `/complete-account`, a page outside the app shell. The token in the address is the credential, so no password is needed to open it.

If the account already has a second factor, the page asks for the authenticator code before it completes.

Once it is done you have a normal session and land in the app.

## Reviewing the terms

The first time you sign in to an account created this way, you are held on a screen headed **"Review and accept the terms"** before the app opens.

It explains that the account was created for you by the Next Horizon team and asks you to read the subscription terms. Tick the box, then press **"Accept and continue"**. The version you accepted is recorded.

**"Sign out"** is available on that screen if you would rather not continue.

Accepting the terms is a precondition of subscribing, which is why it comes before anything to do with payment. An account that does not need to pay never reaches the payment step at all.

## Setting a password

An account created this way may not have a password yet. Set one from **"Settings"**, then **"Security"**, under **"Change password"**, so you are not dependent on the invitation link.
