# Choose a plan

Where the plan catalogue appears, what the cards show, and how the monthly and annual views differ

Section: app. Audience: public. Updated: 2026-09-21.

---
The plan catalogue is one component, shown in three places: the second step of signing up, the paywall if your account has no plan, and the **"Billing"** page under **"Change plan"**.

It is headed **"Choose your plan"**.

## What the cards show

Every figure on a plan card comes from the platform's price catalogue at the moment the page loads. There are no prices, allowances, rates or seat counts written into the app, and none are written into this guide either. The card is the authority. If you want to know what something costs, open the picker.

Cards can carry a **"Recommended for you"** marker. That is a suggestion based on your account, not a restriction.

A plan with no published price shows **"Price on request"** instead of a figure.

A line reads **"Prices exclude VAT"**, so the figures on the cards are before tax.

## Monthly and annual

**"Billing interval"** switches the catalogue between **"Monthly"** and **"Annual"**.

The annual column shows the published per-month equivalent that the platform sends, not a figure worked out in the browser. That is deliberate: published annual prices are rounded, and arithmetic done locally would print a different number from the price list.

## Free

Free is a real, choosable plan, not an absence of one. It appears in the picker alongside the paid tiers, and choosing it is an explicit act. See [Stay on Free](/app/stay-on-free).

## If the catalogue does not load

The picker says so plainly and offers **"Try again"** rather than showing an empty or, worse, a stale list.

## After you choose

Choosing a paid plan takes you to payment. See [Pay by card](/app/pay-by-card). Choosing Free takes no payment details at all.

If you already have a subscription, choosing a different plan is a change rather than a new purchase. See [Upgrade your plan](/app/upgrade-your-plan) and [Downgrade your plan](/app/downgrade-your-plan).
