# Cancel your subscription, or keep it

Cancelling from inside the app, what you keep until the period ends, and how to change your mind

Section: app. Audience: public. Updated: 2026-09-21.

---
You can cancel your own subscription from the app. You do not have to contact anyone.

## Cancelling

On the **"Billing"** page, on the **"Subscription"** card, use **"Cancel subscription"**.

The app asks **"Cancel your subscription?"** and tells you exactly what cancelling means: you keep your current plan until the end of the period you have paid for, no further payment is taken, and payments already made are not refunded.

**"Yes, cancel it"** confirms. **"Keep it"** backs out and changes nothing.

## After cancelling

The card shows the date your subscription ends and says you keep your plan until then. Nothing is cut off on the day you cancel.

## Changing your mind

**"Keep my subscription"** resumes it. Do this before the end date and the cancellation is undone, with no gap and nothing extra to pay.

## While a cancellation is pending

A subscription that is set to cancel cannot have its plan changed. If you want to move to a different plan instead of leaving, resume the subscription first and then change plan.

## What happens when it ends

When the period ends, the account loses its paid entitlement. Signing in still works, and the **"Billing"** page stays reachable, because an account that is being asked to subscribe must be able to reach the page where it would do so. What you will meet is the paywall. See [When your account is not subscribed](/app/paywall).

If you want to stay with Horizon at no cost rather than leave, choose the free plan instead of cancelling. See [Stay on Free](/app/stay-on-free).

## Accounts billed elsewhere

If your plan is billed through Shopify or WooCommerce, cancel it there. The app tells you when that is the case rather than offering a button that would not work.
